Scripture:
Luke 6:38 – Give, and you will receive gifts—the full measure, compacted, shaken together, and overflowing, will be put right in your lap. For the measure with which you measure out will be used to measure back to you!”
Questioning:
Can you remember a time when you surprised someone with a gift?
Listening:
Think about a time wherein you were given an unexpected gift from someone and how it made you feel. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you about the joy of giving, not just receiving.
Application:
Take time today to experience the joy of giving. Be intentional about giving to others, whether it’s sharing a kind word of encouragement or buying someone’s lunch. Engage in the principle of giving and learn to appreciate the joy of giving to others.
Prayer:
Lord, I recognize that I can never give more than You. Thank You for Your promise to bless me as I give generously to Your church and to others.
